As natives of Cape Cod, Christopher and Victoria both grew up with an inherent love for the sea, boats, and simple architecture of homes throughout the Cape and its islands. After moving to Maine in 2002, they began working toward their dream of owning a furniture company together – and Salt Furniture Co. was born. Their unique line of furniture is inspired by the vernacular spirit from Nantucket to Maine. It’s also inspired by their daily living – they aim to create pieces that will be versatile, functional, and beautiful in any home. Utilizing the best materials available to them, their furniture and accessories are made using sustainable, solid wood incorporating 200 year old reclaimed birch from Moosehead Lake in Maine. The pieces are hand-finished using Farrow & Ball paints made in England one batch at a time. The paint is made with natural, high quality materials which result in a beautiful, rich and durable finish with low VOC’s. The pieces that aren’t painted are hand-rubbed with beeswax and natural oils.

Christopher and Victoria love working directly with customers to create something unique for their lifestyle, something that will become a part of their family history.
