john derian

John Derian, America’s most noted contemporary decoupage artist, creates beautiful one-of-a-kind pieces using paper, glue, and handcrafted glass. John collects archive paper images that are personal, that inspire, and that “evoke deep memories that people gravitate towards.” Established in 1989, John’s collections are handmade in his studio in New York City where he employs a small staff of artisans to assist him in his creations.

Renowned artisans Astier de Villatte and John Derian have combined their signature styles to create this unique collection of tableware. In an antique Bastille workshop, each piece is handmade using black terra cotta and a white enamel glaze, signature of the highly collected French line. Paired with the colorful 19th-century inspired patterns and images of John Derian's iconic decoupage work, the pieces are at once classic and unexpected.
